To make the most of our class time, please prepare your exterior pieces before you arrive by following the steps below.
1. Cut your main exterior fabric pieces to 18" x 15" and quilt them before class. Important Note: YOU WILL NOT BE QUILTING THE LINING TO THE MAIN EXTERIOR PIECES!!!
2. If you are making the optional contrast bottom, cut 2 exterior main body pieces at 18" x 8" and 2 contrast bottom pieces at 18" x 6.5".
3. Sew the main body and contrast bottom pieces right sides together using a 1/4" seam allowance.
4. Press the seam toward the bottom and topstitch with a 1/8" seam allowance using a 3.5 mm stitch length.
5. Baste the foam to the wrong side of each exterior piece using a 1/8" seam allowance. You can use basting spray or pins to make sure the foam is stable with no wrinkles.
6. Mark the center of the bag with erasable chalk or a heat-erasable pen.
7. Draw quilting lines 1" apart, then quilt from the center outward using a 3.5 mm stitch length.
Note: The bag will be cut down to pattern size in the class.
