Want to create a bag and just don't know where to begin? This is a fun beginner bag/tote class which doesn't include zippers or hardware. Take a panel or an orphan block as your focus front of the bag. Cheryl will teach you how to quilt your fabric on your domestic machine and be ready to piece it into your bag.
Skill level: Beginner
Supplies:
· Panel or orphan quilt block - size approximately 12” X 12”
Note: borders around panel/quilt block will be added to make the main body 18” X 18” - finished tote size approximately 17 ½” X 14 ½” X 5 ½”
· Fat quarters - 2 each - (1) for border - fabric that you would like to go with the panel or quilt block (2) other main side (can use scraps from your stash!)
· Lining fabric - ⅝ yard
· Strapping fabric - ⅛ yard (for covering strapping if making fabric handles)
· Bosal In-R-Form Plus double sided (for exterior pieces of the bag) - 1 pkg.
· Fusible interfacing - SF101 - 1-¼” yard
· Strapping - 1 inch size - 1-½ yard
· Rotary cutter & Scissors
· Wonder clips
· Straight Pins
· Marking tool (visible on dark or light fabrics)
· Scissors
· Optional: walking foot
· Working sewing machine
Classroom rules:
Be ready to start on time with all pre-work (homework) completed.
Please place your phone on vibrate/silent as a courtesy to the Instructor and other students .
No outside pets or visitors in class.
No food in class. Drinks with a lid may be consumed.
Please keep conversations unrelated to class to a minimum or after class.
Class Fee Policy:
If you cancel 7 days prior to the class date, you will be issued a full refund in store credit. If you cancel 6 days prior to the class date, your class fee will be totally non-refundable. If our Instructor, cancels the class, you will receive a full refund in store credit.
