Silk Ribbon Embroidery Hat Class - Sunday, July 13th 1:30pm - 4:30pm

Join Instructor, Linda Fullhart as she provides hands on details using silk ribbon while creating beautiful floral designs on visors, caps or hats or your choice. 

Prerequisite:

You should know how to create the following embroidery stitches:  Stem stitch, chain stitch, lazy daisy, French knot, Woven circle

We will use several of these same stitches with silk ribbon rather than Pearle cotton.

When choosing a hat to embellish with silk ribbon embroidery it is impotant to look at the thickness of the hat where you will place your flowers.  It is best if this is just the thickness of the cotton and not extra padding (like a visor has).  We will discuss types of flowers that will look nice on your hat - you will actually design the placement for the flowers.  Knowing that the larger the flower, the wider the ribbon you will need (at least 7mm, possibly 13mm if making the larger roses.)

Supplies Required:

• Hat to decorate - ball cap style of bucket hat style works best - NOT a straw hat. 
• Sewline Air Erasing Pen
• Embroidery scissors (small and sharp)
• Chenille #18 Needles
• Chenille #22 Needles
• Embroidery floss - Pearle Cotton Yellow, Pink, Green, Blue & Brown
• Silk Ribbon - will depend on what flowers you plan on making.  4mm, 7mm & 13mm
